Euro Zone Industrial Output Edges Back Into Growth in June, Ending Brief Decline

Euro Zone industrial production returned to positive territory in June 2026, posting a 0.1% year-over-year increase, according to data updated on 13 August 2026. The modest gain marks a reversal from May 2026, when output slipped 0.1% compared with the same month a year earlier.

The improvement, though slight, suggests that industrial activity in the currency bloc has stabilized after dipping into negative territory in May. On a year-over-year basis, the latest reading indicates that overall production in June was marginally higher than in June 2025, while May’s figure had come in slightly below its year-ago level.

With the move from -0.1% to 0.1% year-over-year, the data hint at a tentative strengthening in the industrial sector, a key component of the Euro Zone economy. Market participants will watch upcoming releases to see whether June’s positive shift develops into a more sustained recovery in industrial output across the bloc.
