Poland’s Consumer Sentiment Slips in August as PCSI Falls Below 48

Poland’s Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) weakened in August 2026, signaling a deterioration in household confidence. The index declined to 47.39 in August from 49.16 in July 2026, according to data updated on 13 August 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the August reading reflects a negative shift in sentiment compared with July, when the PCSI had stood at 49.16. The current “Actual” figure shows how sentiment has changed from July to August, while the “Previous” comparison captured the change from June to July. The latest drop suggests that Polish consumers have turned more cautious as summer progresses, with the index remaining below the 50-point threshold that often separates more optimistic from more pessimistic views.
