Saudi Consumer Sentiment Edges Higher in August, PCSI Rises to 71.42

Saudi Arabia’s consumer confidence continued to strengthen in August 2026, with the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) inching up to 71.42, from 70.21 in July 2026.

The latest reading, updated on 13 August 2026, reflects a month-over-month improvement, as defined by the survey’s methodology, which compares sentiment in the current month to the previous one. In July, the index stood at 70.21, already elevated, indicating that Saudi consumers have grown marginally more optimistic heading into late summer.

The PCSI is widely followed as a barometer of consumer perceptions about the economic environment, household finances, and future expectations. The August uptick suggests a modest but ongoing improvement in sentiment compared with July, extending the positive month-over-month trend in Saudi Arabia’s consumer outlook.
