FX.co ★ Colombia Consumer Confidence Weakens in July

Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index declined by 3.6 percentage points in July 2026, falling to 20.7% from 24.3% in June. The drop was mainly driven by a sharp 7.4-point decrease in the Economic Conditions Index, which fell to 6.4%, while the Consumer Expectations Index edged down 1.1 points to 30.3%.

The share of respondents anticipating “good economic times” over the next 12 months decreased to 24.8%, from 31.3% previously. However, expectations for an improvement in the national economy rose to 24.3%, up from 22.5%. Households also reported a slightly better view of their current financial situation, with that indicator increasing to 41.8% from 40.2%, and the proportion of respondents citing a deterioration in their household’s finances eased marginally to 11.1% from 11.5%.

By contrast, willingness to purchase durable goods fell sharply, dropping to 1.7% in July from 16.1% in June.
