Kyrgyzstan GDP Growth Slows to 4-Month Low

Kyrgyzstan’s GDP grew by 11.1% year-on-year in January–July 2026, slowing from 11.9% in January–June and marking the weakest expansion since March. The deceleration was driven mainly by the services sector, whose growth eased by 3.7 percentage points to 6.1%. Services accounted for 49.8% of total GDP.

The slowdown in services reflected weaker gains in several key activities: wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (8.4% vs 8.5% previously), transport and storage (4.2% vs 4.4%), and accommodation and food services (9.6% vs 10.5%).

By contrast, other sectors continued to support overall GDP growth. Goods-producing industries expanded by 3.3% and represented 34.2% of GDP, underpinned by stronger growth in agriculture, forestry, and fishing (6.0% vs 4.3%), mining (16.9% vs 12.8%), and water supply, waste management, and raw-material recycling (17.3% vs 16.2%).
