Czech July Producer Prices Accelerate to 1.6% Year-on-Year, Extending Upward Trend

The Czech Republic’s Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 1.6% year-on-year in July 2026, edging higher from a 1.3% annual increase recorded in June 2026. The latest figures, updated on 17 August 2026, signal a modest acceleration in producer-level inflation pressures.

Both the June and July readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring price changes in each month against the same month a year earlier. The uptick from 1.3% to 1.6% suggests that Czech producers are facing slightly stronger price growth than in early summer, a development that could eventually pass through to consumer prices if the trend persists.

For market participants and policymakers, the July data will be watched for indications of whether this marks the start of a more sustained build-up in cost pressures within the country’s industrial sector or remains a relatively contained move within a still moderate inflation environment at the producer level.
