DAX at Near 2-Week Low

The DAX 40 declined for a second consecutive session on Tuesday, losing about 0.4% to trade near 26,200 — its lowest level since August 6. Sentiment was pressured by rising oil prices and higher bond yields, both driven by mounting tensions between the US and Iran, as well as renewed weakness in technology shares.

Geopolitical uncertainty intensified after the 60‑day interim agreement between Washington and Tehran expired on Monday without progress. The US has rejected an extension, while Iran has warned of a tougher response if no advances are made in the coming weeks, heightening worries over potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and risks to global energy supplies.

Technology and industrial names were among the biggest laggards. Infineon Technologies (-2.5%), Siemens Energy (-2.2%), Siemens (-0.9%) and Hochtief (-0.6%) ranked among the session’s weakest performers. By contrast, BASF (-0.9%), Deutsche Post (0.9%) and Deutsche Telekom (0.8%) recorded the largest gains.
