Swiss M3 Money Supply Climbs in July 2026, Signalling Continued Liquidity Expansion

Switzerland’s broad money supply (M3) rose in July 2026, underscoring a further expansion in liquidity within the Swiss financial system. According to the latest data, updated on 21 August 2026, M3 reached 1,231,109.0 billion in July, up from 1,227.0 billion recorded in June 2026.

The increase in the M3 aggregate, which captures currency in circulation along with various types of bank deposits and other liquid instruments, points to ongoing growth in the overall money stock. While the data alone do not clarify the underlying drivers—such as changes in lending activity, savings behavior, or monetary policy stance—the continued rise in M3 will be closely watched by analysts monitoring inflation dynamics, credit conditions and broader economic momentum in Switzerland.

The July figures provide an updated snapshot of monetary conditions ahead of upcoming central bank assessments, offering markets an important reference point on the pace of money supply growth in the second half of 2026.
