The DAX 40 slipped about 0.3% to below 26,100 on Monday, erasing gains from the previous session as technology shares came under pressure amid heightened caution ahead of Nvidia’s earnings release. Sentiment was further weighed down as investors awaited details of new US sanctions on Iran expected later in the day. The US administration has recently signaled its intention to step up economic pressure on Iran and its trading partners in an effort to help bring the conflict with Iran to an end. Looking ahead, markets are also focused on this week’s Jackson Hole symposium for fresh indications on the future path of interest rates. Among the index’s weakest performers were Volkswagen (-1.7%), Siemens Energy (-1.2%) and SAP (-1%), while Brenntag (1.1%), BASF (0.9%) and Beiersdorf (0.7%) led the gains.
