The number of tourist arrivals in Montenegro increased by 4.4% year-on-year in July 2026, reaching an eleven-month high of 244,754, after a 5.8% rise in June. Foreign tourists remained the dominant group, making up 92.3% of total arrivals, or 225,824 visitors, while domestic tourists accounted for 7.7%, or 18,930 arrivals.
Among foreign visitors, Europe continued to be the main source region, contributing 81.3% of all arrivals. The largest European markets were Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Poland. Outside Europe, which represented 18.7% of total foreign arrivals, the strongest source markets were Israel, the United States, and China, including Hong Kong.
By type of accommodation, seaside resorts remained the most attractive, capturing 82.1% of all arrivals. They were followed by the capital city with 9.4%, mountain resorts with 5.3%, and other types of resorts with 3.2%.
Overnight stays in collective accommodation reached 1,081,249 in July. Foreign tourists accounted for 91.6% of these nights, while domestic tourists represented the remaining 8.4%.
