Italy’s consumer confidence index edged up to 94.5 in August 2026 from 94.2 in July, coming in below market expectations of 95. Despite the shortfall, it marked the highest reading since February 2025, with most components improving.
The economic climate sub-index rose to 92.3 from 90.9, while the future climate indicator increased to 90.2 from 89.8, signaling a more positive outlook for the broader economy. The current climate measure also inched higher, to 97.8 from 97.4. In contrast, the personal climate index was unchanged at 95.4.
