FX.co ★ Cyprus Industrial Output Growth Steady in June

Industrial production in Cyprus rose by 0.3% year-on-year in June 2026, matching the increase recorded in May and remaining at its weakest pace since February. Output in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply was flat, following a 4.0% decline in May.

Manufacturing output slipped slightly, moderating to a 0.5% decrease from a 0.6% rise in the previous month. The downturn was driven by weaker performance in:

• Basic metals and fabricated metal products (up 1.1% vs 2.3%),
• Paper and paper products, and printing (-1.7% vs -0.7%),
• Rubber and plastic products (-2.4% vs 4.7%),
• Textiles, wearing apparel, and leather products (-8.0% vs 0.4%).

Growth in water collection, treatment, and supply also softened (10.2% vs 14.2%). At the same time, output fell for water supply and materials recovery (-3.9% vs a 1.5% increase previously), and the contraction in materials recovery deepened (-20.7% vs -15.1%).

Over the first half of the year (January–June), industrial production was up 1.2% compared with the same period a year earlier.
