Ireland’s retail sector gained traction in July 2026, with month-over-month sales growth rising to 1.3%, up from a 0.5% increase recorded in June 2026.
The latest figures, updated on 28 August 2026, indicate a clear acceleration in consumer activity. On a month-over-month basis, July’s “Actual” reading of 1.3% reflects a stronger expansion in retail trade compared with June’s “Previous” reading, which showed a 0.5% increase versus May.
The improvement suggests that Irish consumers stepped up spending into mid-summer, marking a notable pick-up in retail momentum after more modest growth earlier in the period.
