Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence inched up by 0.1 point to 48.1 in August 2026 compared with July, remaining below the neutral 50-point threshold for the 18th straight month. Manufacturers’ assessment of the present as a suitable time to invest rose by 1.4 points to 34.4. Their view of current business conditions was unchanged at 50.4 points. Firms’ evaluation of the country’s current economic situation slipped by 0.3 point to 47.8, while expectations for the national economy over the coming period edged down 0.1 point to 51.9. Expectations for the future economic situation of their own companies also eased, falling 0.3 point to 55.9.
