The Euro Area economy grew by 1.2% year-on-year in Q2 2026, revised up from the previous 1.0% estimate and doubling the 0.6% expansion recorded in Q1 2026. The pickup was supported by stronger household consumption (1.2% vs. 1.0%) and a marked improvement in gross fixed capital formation (1.4% vs. 0.3%), while exports rebounded solidly (3.9% vs. -0.1%). Imports also accelerated, rising 3.6% compared with 1.9% previously. By contrast, growth in government spending eased to 1.9% from 2.3%. Among the bloc’s largest economies, GDP growth strengthened in Germany (1.0% vs. 0.7%) and Italy (1.0% vs. 0.8%), slowed in France (0.5% vs. 0.7%), and was unchanged in Spain (2.7% vs. 2.7%).
