FX.co ★ Albania Inflation Eases in August

Albania’s annual inflation rate eased to 3.2% in August 2026, down from 3.4% in July. Price growth slowed across several major categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.8% vs 3.5% in July), housing and utilities (3.7% vs 4.1%), furnishings and household equipment (2.8% vs 3.3%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.8% vs 3.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.4% vs 3%), health (1.8% vs 1.9%), recreation and culture (5.4% vs 6%), and restaurants and hotels (2.3% vs 2.7%).

Prices continued to decline further for clothing and footwear (-3.2% vs -1.8%) and communications (-1% vs -0.9%). In contrast, transport prices rose at a faster pace, with inflation in that category accelerating to 12% from 8% in the previous month. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.1% in August, following a 0.2% rise in July.
