Indonesia Consumer Mood Rises to 3-Month High

Indonesia’s consumer confidence index rose in August 2026 for the first time in four months, reaching 118.5 from 116.8 in July, when it had fallen to its lowest level since April 2025. This was the highest reading since May, driven largely by stronger assessments of current economic conditions, which climbed 1.5 points to a three-month high of 109.4.

Sentiment toward purchases of durable goods improved as well, gaining 2.0 points to 106.1. Perceptions of job availability over the past six months strengthened by 3.0 points to 104.1. At the same time, expectations for income over the next six months increased by 1.3 points to 134.9.

Expectations regarding job availability also advanced, rising 2.6 points to 125.7, while expectations for business activity over the next six months were up 1.7 points to 122.1.
