Poland Trade Deficit Widens in July

Poland’s trade deficit widened significantly to €1.84 billion in July 2026, up from €1.06 billion in the same month a year earlier. Imports rose 12.6% year-on-year to €33.21 billion, driven primarily by higher purchases of capital goods, especially computer hardware, with imports of passenger cars also accelerating. For the first time, China became Poland’s largest supplier of goods, overtaking Germany. Exports grew at a slower pace of 10.3%, reaching €31.37 billion, supported by record-high shipments of computer hardware. Rising prices also underpinned continued export growth in copper, raw silver and petroleum products. In contrast, foreign sales in the automotive and furniture industries declined again.
