Slovakia’s Core Inflation Eases to 1.5% in August, Extending Downward Trend

Slovakia’s core consumer price inflation slowed further in August 2026, underscoring a continued easing in underlying price pressures. Year-over-year core CPI decelerated to 1.5% in August, down from 1.7% in July 2026, according to data updated on 15 September 2026.

Both readings are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s core inflation to the same month a year earlier. The August figure marks a further step away from earlier, higher inflation levels and may be viewed as a sign of stabilizing price dynamics in the Slovak economy. Investors and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases to see whether this downward trajectory in core inflation is sustained in the coming months.
