FX.co ★ Eurozone Investor Morale Unexpectedly Weakens

The ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for the Euro Area slipped to 25.8 in September 2026 from a six-month high of 31.4 in August, falling well short of analysts’ expectations for a further rise to 39.9. In September, 54.8% of surveyed analysts anticipated no change in economic activity, 35.5% expected an improvement, and 9.7% foresaw a deterioration.

The assessment of the current economic situation improved, with the corresponding index climbing 7.6 points to -13.9. At the same time, inflation expectations strengthened notably, rising 28.7 points to 31.1.
