Palladium Rebounds From Three-Week Low

Palladium futures climbed to around $1,320 per ounce, rebounding from three-week lows as a weaker US dollar and short-covering supported prices ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy decision. The metal advanced in line with broader gains across the precious metals complex, with markets pricing in a 92.4% probability of at least a 25 basis point interest rate increase. Volatility in US Treasury yields also spurred demand for dollar-denominated commodities, while extended short positions following recent declines prompted additional covering. At the same time, persistent supply risks in South Africa, stemming from high operating costs and ongoing power grid instability, continued to fuel concerns about mine output. Ongoing trade and geopolitical tensions involving Russian palladium further underpinned the bullish backdrop for prices.
