Kosovo GDP Growth Slows to 4.06% in Q2

Kosovo’s economy expanded by 4.06% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from a downwardly revised 5.27% growth rate in the previous quarter. The increase was broadly based across sectors. Activity in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transport and storage; and accommodation and food services grew by 3.48%. Financial and insurance activities recorded particularly strong growth of 15.67%.

Additional support came from information and communication (up 5.04%); arts, entertainment and recreation; household production for own use; and other service activities (together up 1.29%). Scientific, professional and technical activities, along with administrative and support service activities, rose by 3.99%, while manufacturing expanded by 3.48%.

On the expenditure side, exports of goods and services made the largest contribution, increasing by 6.82%. Gross fixed capital formation surged 11.91%. Government consumption grew by 7.02%, and household consumption was up 4.4%.
