Colombia’s imports rose 22.9% year-on-year to $7.97 billion in July 2026, following a 27% increase in June. Manufacturing imports expanded 16.1%, led by a 24% jump in purchases of machinery and transport equipment and an 11% rise in chemicals and related products. Imports of agriculture, food, and beverages grew 26.3%, largely reflecting a 27.2% increase in food products and live animals. Meanwhile, imports of fuels and extractive industry products surged 77.3%, driven by a 79.6% rise in purchases of petroleum, petroleum products, and related items.
