FX.co ★ Croatia Jobless Rate Steady at 3.4%

Croatia’s registered unemployment rate held steady at 3.4% in September, unchanged from the previous month. The number of unemployed persons rose by 1.8% month-on-month to 63.2 thousand, while total employment inched up by 0.6% to 1.777 million. The labor force also expanded by 0.7% to 1.840 million.

Within this, paid employment in legal entities increased by 0.8% to 1.520 million. In contrast, employment in crafts, trades, and freelance activities declined by 0.3% to 240.2 thousand, and employment among private farmers decreased by 0.4% to 17.3 thousand.

On a yearly basis, compared with August 2025, labor market conditions remained weaker overall: the labor force was 1.7% lower, total employment fell by 1.1%, and paid employment in legal entities declined by 1.5%. Over the same period, however, registered unemployment dropped markedly, by a further 16.3%.
