The Dutch economy showed a modest acceleration in the second quarter of 2026, with gross domestic product (GDP) growing 1.6% year-over-year, up from a previously reported 1.4% in the same period. The updated data, released on 23 September 2026, indicate a slight strengthening in economic activity compared with a year earlier.

According to the year-over-year comparison methodology, the “actual” figure reflects how GDP in the second quarter of 2026 changed versus the second quarter of 2025, while the “previous” figure showed the change in the prior period relative to its year-ago level. The uptick from 1.4% to 1.6% suggests that the Netherlands has managed to improve its growth trajectory, albeit gradually, as it moves through 2026.
