FX.co ★ Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Reach Record in August

Tourist arrivals in Slovenia increased by 6.0% year-on-year to 1.286 million in August 2026, slowing from an eleven-month high of 10.6% in July. This was nevertheless the highest monthly number of arrivals on record. Foreign tourist arrivals rose by 7.6% to 1.116 million, driven mainly by visitors from the Czech Republic (up 8.6%), Italy (up 8.3%), and Germany (up 6.7%), which more than offset declines from the Netherlands (down 3.6%) and France (down 4.5%). By contrast, domestic tourist arrivals fell by 3.5% to 169,800. Overnight stays increased by 5.8% to 3.537 million, with most visitors staying in mountain municipalities (up 7.7%), urban municipalities (up 6.4%), the capital (up 5.5%), and health resorts (up 5.4%). Over the January–August period, tourist arrivals rose by 6.4% year-on-year to 5.3905 million, while overnight stays also grew by 6.4% to 14.0784 million.
