Dutch Factory Sector Climbs to 4-Month High

The Nevi Netherlands Manufacturing PMI rose to 55.6 in September 2026, up from a five-month low of 53.8 in August. This was the highest reading since May, reflecting the strongest increase in new orders since that month as market demand strengthened. In turn, manufacturers stepped up production, with output expanding at its fastest rate since January 2022.

On the pricing side, input cost inflation accelerated compared with the previous month and remained high by historical standards. Output prices also rose at a faster pace, indicating that firms were able to maintain some pricing power in the context of stronger demand.

Looking ahead, business confidence improved to its joint-highest level since February 2025. Manufacturers highlighted the launch of new projects and expectations of increased semiconductor-related orders as key drivers of their optimism for the coming year.
