Namibia’s Monthly Inflation Eases in September as CPI Growth Slows to 0.40%

Namibia’s consumer price inflation cooled on a month-over-month basis in September 2026, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising by 0.40%, down from a 0.60% increase recorded in August 2026. The fresh data, updated on 8 October 2026, indicate a moderation in short-term price pressures across the economy.

The latest reading shows that while prices are still rising, the pace of monthly increases has slowed compared with the previous period. In August, the CPI’s 0.60% gain reflected a faster month-over-month climb, whereas September’s 0.40% figure points to a more tempered inflation dynamic.

On a month-over-month comparison basis, the “actual” September result captures the change in prices from August to September, while the “previous” figure for August represents the change from July to August. This sequential deceleration may signal a gradual easing of cost pressures, a development that could be closely watched by policymakers, businesses, and investors assessing the near-term inflation trajectory in Namibia.
