The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone accelerated for the third consecutive month, reaching 3.8% in September 2026, its highest level since September 2023. This compares with 3.2% in August and matches the preliminary estimate.

Inflation accelerated across most of the currency bloc. Slovakia was the only member state to record a marginal decline, with its rate edging down to 3.0% from 3.1%. Inflation in Latvia and Portugal was unchanged, at 3.0% and 3.6%, respectively.

Among the Eurozone’s largest economies, inflation increased in Germany to 3.3% from 2.9%, in France to 3.4% from 2.6%, in Italy to 4.2% from 3.2%, in Spain to 5.0% from 4.6%, and in the Netherlands to 3.0% from 2.8%.
