FX.co ★ Israel Jobless Rate Edges Up

Israel’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched up to 3.0% in September 2026, from 2.8% in August. The number of unemployed rose to 143.8 thousand, an increase of 8.5 thousand compared with a year earlier and 12.5 thousand compared with the previous month. At the same time, the employment rate ticked up to 60.3% from 60.0% in August, as the number of employed persons climbed by 24.5 thousand month-on-month and by 54.1 thousand year-on-year to 4,421.8 thousand. The labor force participation rate also increased, reaching 62.2% versus 61.8% in the prior month. On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate rose to 3.2% from 2.9% in August.
