India’s BSE Sensex reversed early gains to close about 0.2% lower at 73,710 on Wednesday, dragged down mainly by financial stocks, while rising crude oil prices and continued foreign fund outflows further weighed on sentiment. Investors also focused on quarterly earnings announcements and developments around the Jio Platforms IPO. Bajaj Finance fell 3.3%, making it the session’s biggest loser, after India’s largest non-bank lender reported early signs of stress in gold-backed loans, despite posting a strong jump in quarterly profit. Auto and metal counters were also under pressure. On the positive side, technology shares outperformed, with HCL Tech, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra each gaining more than 3%.
