European Stocks Poised for a Weaker Open

European equity markets were poised to open slightly lower on Wednesday after a two-session rebound, as investors continued to reassess the prospects for the AI-driven rally in the context of robust corporate earnings. Market participants were also focused on forthcoming policy decisions from the Fed, ECB, and BOJ. All three central banks are widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged, while investors gauge the likelihood of potential rate hikes in December.

At the same time, oil prices advanced again amid uncertainty over Israel’s tightly contested election and renewed concerns that the US could resume military strikes against Iran following the midterm elections. In Europe, attention will center on German consumer confidence data and quarterly results from major banking groups, including UBS Group, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, Santander, and Standard Chartered. In premarket trading, futures on both the Euro Stoxx 50 and the Stoxx 600 slipped about 0.2%.
