Swiss investor sentiment dropped sharply in October 2026, falling 17.9 points to -15.3 from +2.6 in September, according to a survey by UBS and CFA Society Switzerland. This was the steepest monthly decline since March 2026, when sentiment had been weighed down by the conflict in the Middle East. In contrast, views on current economic conditions improved markedly: the corresponding indicator climbed to +26.7 in October, up from +18 in September. UBS commented that this more favorable assessment of the present situation helps to put the sharp deterioration in economic expectations into perspective.
