FX.co ★ Estonia Retail Sales Growth at 3-Month Low

Retail sales in Estonia rose by 4.0% year-on-year in September 2026, easing from 6.1% in August and marking the weakest growth since June. The slowdown was driven in part by sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which increased by just 0.7% after a 2.5% rise in the previous month, and by non-food sales excluding fuel, where growth cooled to 4.5% from 8.0%. Meanwhile, sales of automotive fuel in specialised stores grew by 1.9%, a marked deceleration from 4.5% in August.

On a monthly basis, retail sales fell by 1.9% in September, following a 1.4% decline in August, marking the second consecutive monthly drop. Over the period from January to September, however, retail sales volume was still up by 4.0% compared with the same period a year earlier.
