FX.co ★ Greece Jobless Rate Rose to 7.6% in September

Greece’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged up to 7.6% in September 2026, from a more than eighteen-year low of 7.4% in August. The number of unemployed rose by 7.5 thousand over the month, reaching 359.6 thousand. Joblessness among women remained markedly higher than among men, at 10.5% compared with 5.2%. At the same time, the number of people outside the labour force—defined as those under 75 who are neither employed nor actively seeking work—declined by 2.7 thousand to 2,949.1 thousand. Total employment fell by 9 thousand, leaving the number of employed persons at approximately 4,391.2 thousand.
