FX.co ★ Serbia Retail Sales Growth at 6-Month High

Retail sales in Serbia increased by 8.8% year-on-year in September 2026, accelerating from a 6.3% rise in August and marking the fastest pace of growth since March. The expansion was driven by stronger sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (up 12.7% vs. 9.0% in August), as well as non-food products (up 5.7% vs. 2.8%). In contrast, growth in automotive fuel sales at specialized outlets eased slightly to 5.6%, down from 6.2% in August. On a month-on-month basis, however, retail sales fell by 0.9% in September, deepening the 0.7% decline recorded in the previous month.
