Sensex Rises to 6-Week High

India’s BSE Sensex climbed 1.2% to 75,323 on Monday, extending its rally to a third consecutive session and marking its highest level since mid-September. Sentiment was buoyed by easing crude oil prices, renewed foreign investor buying, and solid corporate earnings.

Brent crude declined to around $111 a barrel from a six‑month high of $118, helping to temper concerns over imported inflation.

Earnings releases further underpinned the market. Reliance Industries’ shares rose to a nine‑month high after the company reported a 40.6% year‑on‑year jump in quarterly net profit, while Jio Platforms posted a 13.7% increase in profit. Bharat Electronics also delivered a strong performance, with net profit up 19.7% and revenue growing 26.5%; its order book stood at ₹68,717 crore.

Among notable gainers were Reliance (+6.6%), Bharti Airtel (+0.9%), Jio Platforms (+1.0%), and Welspun Living (+7.0%).

Investors are also awaiting the final HSBC Manufacturing PMI for October, due later in the day, which is forecast at 54.8, compared with a previous reading of 55.1.
