FX.co ★ US Futures Mixed as Midterm Election Results Awaited

US stock futures were mixed on Wednesday as investors tracked midterm election results and evaluated a fresh batch of corporate earnings. Futures tied to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 each added about 0.1%, while Dow futures edged down 0.1%.

Early polling suggested Democrats could seize control of the House of Representatives, while the outcome in the Senate remained unclear. Market participants are wary that a Democratic sweep of both chambers could lead to tighter regulation of the AI industry and more stringent corporate oversight.

On the earnings front, AMD jumped more than 6% in after-hours trading after posting third-quarter earnings and revenue that topped Wall Street expectations, lifting other semiconductor names as well. Super Micro Computer and Arista Networks also gained after delivering quarterly results that beat forecasts.

In Tuesday’s regular session, the S&P 500 advanced 0.36% and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.83%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.38%.
