The US stock market for 16/09/2010

By the end of the deals on Thursday the stock markets of the USA closed on the upside amid the rising confidence in that the economy will be able to avoid the second recession wave.

Dow Jones Industrial Average index rose by 22,10 points or by 0,21% to 10594,83 points, the highest closing level from August 10. Standard & Poor's 500 fell by 0,41 points or by 0,04% to 1124,66 points.
Nasdaq Composite index lifted by 1,93 points or by 0,08% to 2303,25 points.
Although the major indices were ascending this month Nasdaq was moving advanced. The index ticked up by 8,95% from the beginning of September amid the fears weakening regarding the second recession wave in the USA. Nasdaq has been advancing during the last 7 sequent sessions that has become the longest period of solid growth. Meanwhile, DJIA increased in September by 5,79% and S&P 500 gained 7,18%.
Hewlett-Packard shares have become the growth leaders which surged by 73 cents or by 1,8% to 40,35 dollars. Cisco Systems shares hiked by 34 cents or by 1,6% to 21,93 dollars, Intel papers soared in price by 25 cents or by 1,3% to 18,97 dollars.
The production components weakened under the pressure of FedEx shares falling by 3,22 dollars or by 3,8% to 82,72. The shares of another courier company United Parcel Service also showed a downtrend moving to 94 cents or by 1,4% to 66,72 dollars.
Ford Motor shares ticked up in price by 57 cents or by 4,8% to 12,44 dollars after that Barclays Capital marked up the rating of the car producer due to sales prospects improvement in the North America.
Nevertheless, the recent ambiguous economic data undermined the investors confidence concerning the stable character of economic rally that is why the trades were run in narrow diapasons. Although, the fears regarding the economy eased on Thursday there emerged a concernment related to the aggressive position of the US legislators concerning the currency policy in China and potential tension in the American-Chinese relations.
