Chinese story: Tesla sold about 60,000 China-made cars in January

According to the China Passenger Car Association, an American electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla Inc. sold 59,845 electric cars from its Chinese factory in January.

Now Tesla makes Model Y sports cars and Model 3 sedans in Shanghai. In December, they sold 70,847 cars.

Nio Inc, a well-known company in China, delivered 9,652 electric cars. That's a 33.6 % jump, while the electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng Inc. delivered 12,922 vehicles.

As of January, 2.11 million cars were sold in China. It was 4.5% lower than last year.
