The Trump era in simple numbers

The term of Donald Trump has been favorable for investors and stock market speculators. During that period, his "America First" program contributed a tremendous growth to the country's stock market.

In fact, the table below shows the values of the US indices and the percentage gain from Trump's election day to his defeat.

As we can see in the chart, US stocks immediately rallied the day after Trump was elected. And, despite a couple of corrections, it continued to move up, even after his defeat on the November 2020 elections.

The London Stock Exchange (FTSE Index) alone has outperformed the four major US indices. The next best was Japan's NIKKEI, which matched the worst-performing US index, the Russell 2000.

All in all, it is clear that the last four years of Trump's rule has brought remarkable profits to both investors and speculators in the stock market.
