US stock market closes higher, Dow Jones gains 1.00%

At the close in the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones was up 1.00%, the S&P 500 was up 1.46% and the NASDAQ Composite was up 2.50%.

The leading gainer among the components of the Dow Jones index today was Boeing Co, which gained 11.56 points (9.46%) to close at 133.72. Quotes of Microsoft Corporation rose by 7.27 points (2.97%), closing trading at 251.76. Goldman Sachs Group Inc rose 7.53 points or 2.67% to close at 290.07.

Shares of Dow Inc became the leaders of the fall, the price of which fell by 1.15 points (1.96%), ending the session at 57.41. Chevron Corp was up 1.96% or 3.29 points to close at 164.26 while Procter & Gamble Company was down 0.99% or 1.33 points to close at 132. .51.

Among the S&P 500 index components gainers in today's trading were Boeing Co, which rose 9.46% to 133.72, Netflix Inc, which gained 7.50% to close at 180.11, and Warner Bros Discovery Inc, which rose 6.22% to end the session at 14.85.

The biggest losers were Valero Energy Corporation, which shed 4.07% to close at 128.30. Shares of Schlumberger NV lost 3.93% to end the session at 41.52. Quotes of Marathon Petroleum Corp fell in price by 3.67% to 98.90.

The leading gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite in today's trading were Sidus Space Inc, which rose 225.00% to 4.68, Evoke Pharma Inc, which gained 47.06% to close at 3.00, and also shares of Zhong Yang Financial Group Ltd, which rose 41.00% to close the session at 31.02.

The biggest losers were 180 Life Sciences Corp, which shed 34.00% to close at 0.88. Shares of Apptech Corp lost 33.80% and ended the session at 0.56. Quotes Aditx Therapeutics Inc fell in price by 27.79% to 0.18.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that rose in price (2327) exceeded the number of those that closed in the red (863), while quotes of 122 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 2776 companies rose in price, 1073 fell, and 236 remained at the level of the previous close.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, fell 9.39% to 29.62.

Gold Futures for August delivery added 1.32%, or 23.85, to $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI July futures fell 2.44%, or 2.90, to $116.03 a barrel. Brent crude for August delivery fell 1.79%, or 2.17, to $119.00 a barrel.

Meanwhile, in the forex market, the EUR/USD pair remained unchanged 0.39% to 1.05, while USD/JPY fell 1.32% to hit 133.68.

Futures on the USD index fell 0.76% to 104.54.
