Ether is trading around $2,511 in a strong consolidation zone following a technical rebound above $2,380. During today's U.S. and European trading sessions, Ether formed a symmetrical triangle pattern. A break above it could be a positive signal, while a break below it could lead to a decline in Ether's price in the coming hours.
Given that U.S. data has not yet been released, we expect a break above the downtrend channel, which could push the price toward the upper band of the main downtrend channel around $2,580. Since this area represents strong resistance, we might view this as an opportunity to sell.
On the other hand, if U.S. data is positive, we could expect it to fall below $2,515, around the 21 SMA, which could be seen as a signal to sell with targets at $2,400 and at the lower band of the downtrend channel around $2,350.
Given that the Eagle indicator is showing a positive signal for Ether, we technically believe a strong upward move could occur, but the primary trend remains bearish.
We could wait for the price to give us a signal to buy or sell. Ahead of the fundamental data, we could sell below the 8/8 Murray level with a stop-loss above $2,520.
Given that ETH/USD is also under downward pressure, a drop toward $2,400 or $2,343—around the 7/8 Murray level—could be seen as an opportunity to take long positions in anticipation of a technical rebound.
