Samsung to exit laptop business in Europe

PC Advisor first broke the news earlier that Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant, was planning to exit the laptop market in the Old Continent.
The key factors affected that affected such a crucial decision are worsening sales conditions in Europe and declining demand for Samsung laptops. The management does not mean that the company is to withdraw from the market for ever; it has limited destinations of its supplies. Notebooks with the Samsung logo will be sold on markets in other countries. “We quickly adapt to market needs and demands. In Europe, we will be discontinuing sales of laptops including Chromebooks for now. This is specific to the region – and is not necessarily reflective of conditions in other markets. We will continue to thoroughly evaluate market conditions and will make further adjustments to maintain our competitiveness in emerging PC categories,” a spokesman for Samsung stated.
