The next Microsoft's Windows operating system will be Windows 10, the company announced. The most recent version of Microsoft's Windows OS was named Windows 8 and the jump was explained by a large leap in the platform’s development. During the product’s presentation at an event in San-Francisco, Microsoft unveiled some changes that will be interesting for corporate clients.
There were many complaints associated with the interface of Windows 8. The developers will reintroduce the Start Menu which had been removed from it. The other technical details remained unrevealed.
A more detailed preview is slated for October, while the release is planned only for the next year. For now, it is clear that the new operating system will be available for all types of devices, including personal computers, tablets and smartphones. Microsoft also gave a brief demo of a feature called Continuum, which will be used for convertible devices (like laptops with touchscreens) that will switch on the fly between keyboard and touch input.
Experts present at the presentation noted that the company returns to traditional solutions that proved to be good in the 7th version. Microsoft and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund announced the start of works to support startups developing IT solutions for education, health care, trade, manufacturing, services, and financial sectors. The work is done with the help of Microsoft Ventures, an international department of the corporation responsible for comprehensive support for young entrepreneurs around the world.
