The European political map has changed multiple times over the last century. Constant repartition of territories and transfers of boundaries have accompanied Europe along its history. It seemed the end of the last century set everything right. Governments could come to a creation of the united European space, achieved free movement and even implemented a single currency in a narrower group. However, current situation, especially the economic one, makes some of the EU member countries reconsider advantages of the union's membership. This year, the United Kingdom announced publicly the necessity to introduce a question of further country's membership in the EU on referendum. Now, Italy has joined the UK. The government of the country announced a possible referendum the main topic of which would be an exit from the European Union. Initiators of this voting were the representatives of opposition party Five Star Movement. They managed to collect more than 50 thousands signatures over a couple of days. The corresponding petition may become a reason to hold the referendum. Some political scientists are sure that the exit from the EU will become an important step towards independence. Taking into account Italy’s example, one may suppose that the EU will begin to lose its members one after another. The supporters of the exit say that the euro kills the national economy by creating debts. Earlier, the European Commission demanded prompt credit reimbursements of Greece, Ireland and Slovenia due to the inappropriate expenses.
