Samsung to dethrone Nokia as top mobile brand

Samsung is planning to launch four models of new Rex low-cost phones that will have displays within the range of 2.8-3.5 inches and 3.2-megapixel cameras. The new mobile devices will run on a Java-based operating system. A rather modest set of functions provides for a low price of the Rex phones, so Samsung will soon give Nokia a run for its money.
Since Nokia shifted to Windows Phone, it saw its sales rebound in the fourth quarter of 2012 when it vended 15.9 million smartphones. By the way, over a half of the total sales was represented by inexpensive Asha touch screen phones. The set of functions of an Asha phone include mail, internet browser, and social network apps, which makes it reasonably priced and quite popular.
Similar characteristics of Asha and Rex devices portend a decrease in Nokia’s sales. Samsung is currently a leader in smartphone sales, and its innovative devices may well take the cell phone crown from Nokia.
It should be mentioned that Samsung already managed to overtook Nokia as the world's biggest vendor of mobile phones in 2012.
