The authorities of the U.S. and South Korea have hammered out a military plan to counter North Korean provocations, the U.S. forces in the Republic of Korea reported to ITAR-TASS.
As the report goes, the plan is focused on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It contains emergency actions to take in the event of new provocations from North Korea. The plan stems from the agreement the U.S. Air Force and the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea entered after North Korea fired artillery shells onto the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong in November, 2010.
The artillery attack took lives of four people with two of them being civilians. It was the first time North Korea assaulted South Koreans since the Korean War came to its close in 1953. In March this year, Pyongyang tore up the Korean Armistice with Seoul that ended the Korean War of 1950-1953.
The military plan of America and South Korea is said to have provided for “immediate and decisive reaction to any North Korean provocation”.
In its turn, Pyongyang claims that the allied military exercises are a precursor to a real invasion of the D.P.R.K. After the nuclear test on February 12 and subsequent UN sanctions against North Korea, the D.P.R.K. threatens the U.S. and South Korea nearly daily.
