Gazprom recognized as world’s biggest energy company

Gazprom topped the rating of 250 world’s biggest oil and gas companies. Last year the Russian energy giant was the third on the list.

The rating was compiled by S&P Global Platts. In 2016 American ExxonMobil took the first line on the list for the twelfth time in a row while the second biggest company was Korea Electric Power Corp. (KЕРСО).

This year ExxonMobil slumped to the ninth place, way under KEPCO that took the fourth place. Currently, German E.ON SE is the second biggest energy company. In a year it skyrocketed from 114th place. The third on the list is Indian Reliance Industries that was on the eighth place in 2016.
