FX.co ★ Ukraine is world’s main copyright violator

According to the United States Trade Representative, Ukraine has the highest number of violations of the intellectual property rights and infringement of patents, trademarks and copyrights of the American companies.
The country widely uses the pirate software including government agencies. The legislation does not regulate the royalties, and the authorities do not take any measures to improve the situation. The USTR’s report also says that Ukraine has such a system of raising social contributions that legalizes misappropriation of the royalties.
Previously, Ukraine has been added to the 2001-2005 USTR blacklist, because of that Ukraine lost the opportunity of exporting their goods to the U.S.A. at reduced duties. Ukraine’s authorities promised to change the situation for the better, but did not fulfill their obligations. At the briefing of the U.S. Trade Representative it was announced that Ukraine will be deprived of some preferences again.
The list of the unreliable countries also includes Russia, Argentina, Algeria, Venezuela, India, Indonesia, China, Pakistan, Thailand, and Chile.
